Using Microsoft PowerPoint, a program that was once anchored to desktop computers, mobile executives can use their Android devices to create or edit their latest graphically-rich presentations. Without the smartphone or tablet version, that worried exec would be forced to rely on a desktop-developed production. Sure, that original copy might be on-point, but what if it's not quite right? What if that animated slideshow lacks polish? No worries, armed with a mobile office, a commuting professional can view and edit a presentation until it radiates finesse.

Mobile device owners have had access to mobile versions of their favorite MS Office suite programs for a while now. An office manager can write a letter or collaborate with a department team. Microsoft PowerPoint is simply another member of this elite office software package, one that's designed to draw up and animate all sorts of graphically oriented data. Charts and slideshows take on life when they're imbued with cartoon-like motion. Ideas and concepts become much easier to interpret when static graphics are replaced by animated frames. Again, dynamic presentations like this have been capturing conference center audiences and briefing room teams for quite a few years now, but Microsoft PowerPoint's mobile version isn't quite that mature. Regardless, there's much to be gained by incorporating an on-the-go version of this software package.

So, what does the Android version of this high-impact presentation outliner have to offer? For starters, the program isn't solely employed by keen executive types. Salesmen use MS POwerPoint to detail new sales pitches. And salesmen are always on the road, so a mobile presentation platform is clearly desirable. College students, boardroom members, even high schoolers, they all have ideas to communicate. Keeping that in mind, let's see if their smartphones are up to snuff. Microsoft PowerPoint, as installed on an Android device, does require a recent version of Android OS. If a device owner has KitKat or Lollipop installed, they shouldn't have any trouble getting the software to run. Additionally, there should be at least 1GB of RAM under the device hood. By the way, if a mobile user is to access all of the App's built-in editing features, a fairly large touchscreen display should be available on the chosen device. Larger smartphones and tablet devices work best when developing a usable workflow for the mobile version of Microsoft PowerPoint.

On installing the office suite component and tapping its icon, the program window and Microsft-standardized menu ribbon loaded. It's a slick interface, and it's immediately recognizable, at least to desktop users. All the same, the various controls can feel a little finicky to manipulate at times, but a good Android tablet should resolve this issue. After exploring the screen for a few minutes, the urge grows to create or edit a presentation. Animated charts and slideshows are generated quickly, or there's the option to simply review an existing project. Dropbox and OneDrive integration adds a pleasing thread of collaborative power to the software, so users can update other team members' efforts or revise their own work. Really, equipped with table tools, transition effects, shapes, animated text and much more, Android's interpretation of Microsoft PowerPoint has all it takes to keep traveling presentation developers happy. Remember, however, a Microsoft account and Office 365 subscription might be needed to get the best out of the software.
